Pajamas to End the Year

To ring out the old year, I sewed a PJ set. This type of clothing sums up 2020 for some of us, as it doubles as work-from-home attire for us non-essential desk jockeys!

The main fabric is an adorable vintage-style cartoon print on cotton lycra jersey from Funkalicious Fabrics, with contrasting black rib-knit cuffs and neckband.

The pattern is vintage Simplicity 9354 from the 80s. The model’s pose was pretty great, so I attempted to duplicate it.

The pattern was easy to follow. I shortened the top hem by about 4 inches and lowered the elastic waistband of the pants by an inch (I am 5’4″). I also serged and topstitched the neckband and cuffs. The neckband lies nice and flat.

Finally, here’s a look at one of my custom garment tags. I ordered them earlier this year from Etsy shop wovenlabelZ. So much fun!
